Exemplaire sur un flan irrégulier bien centré. Portrait de Maurice Tibère légèrement stylisé. Frappe un peu molle au revers. Jolie patine verte

Obverse description : Buste casqué, diadémé avec pendilia et cuirassé de Maurice Tibère de face tenant le globe crucigère de la main droite.

MAURICIUS TIBERIUS

Maurice succeeded his father-in-law Tiberius II. After great victories over the Sassanids, he suffered many setbacks in the Balkans and could not prevent the installation of the Slavs and Avars. A military plot overthrew him in 602. He was assassinated while trying to take refuge with Chosroes II.
