The murky period during WWII, the quick refund in 1945 and a momentous hold-up in Clermont-Ferrand in 1944 made the 1000 F Déméter a banknote full of surprises. Large finds or great rarities, unfound dates, extreme prices: from €60 to more than €16,000 in UNC, each specimen may prove to be a treasure...
Following the 1945 exchange, some stocks of the Demeter note remained hidden and could not be redeemed. If finds have become rare nowadays, it was frequent to see bundles reemerge on the market 30 or 40 years ago. A few examples of more or less significant finds:
