Exemplaire sur un petit flan ovale, parfaitement centré des deux cotés. Joli portrait. Très beau revers ! Patine vert olive foncé

Obverse description : Buste drapé, tête nue d’Aelius à gauche, vu de trois quarts en arrière.
Obverse translation : “Lucius Ælius Cæsar”, (Lucius Aelius césar).

Reverse legend : TR. PO-T - COS II/ S|C.
Reverse description : Fortuna (la Fortune), drapée debout à gauche, tenant des fleurs de la main droite et une corne d’abondance ainsi qu’un gouvernail de la main gauche.
Reverse translation : “Tribunicia Potestate Consul iterum”, (Revêtu de la puissance tribunitienne consul pour la deuxième fois).

Semble totalement inédit avec ce rare buste à gauche ! Monnaie absente de tous les ouvrages de classement.

Caesar

Aélius receives the title of Caesar at the very end of 136. Consul in 137, he becomes Lucius Ælius Verus and is sent as governor to Pannonia in 137. Sick, he returns to Rome and dies on January 1, 138.
