(1724-1799)

His full title: Charles Theodore, by the Grace of God, Count of the Palatinate and the Rhine, Duke of all Bavaria, Archdeacon and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire, Duke of Juliers, Cleves and Berg. He is the son of Jean-Christian de Palatinat-Soulzbach and Marie-Henriette de La Tour d'Auvergne, Marquise de Berg-op-Zoom, a descendant of the Dukes of Bouillon, granddaughter of Frédéric-Maurice de La Tour d' Auvergne, Count of Auvergne. On January 17, 1742, he married Élisabeth-Auguste de Palatinat-Soulzbach (1721-1794), granddaughter and sole heiress of Elector Charles III Philippe.
