John Frederick I known as the Magnanimous (in German: Friedrich der Grossmütige), is a prince of the house of Wettin, son of the elector John I of Saxony and Sophie of Mecklenburg. He was the last elector of Saxony of the Ernestine branch of the Wettin ruling from 1532 until the loss of electoral dignity in 1547.
