(1825-1848)

Louis (25/08/1786-29/02/1868), born in Strasbourg, is the son of Maximilian I (1806-1825). Married to Thérèse of Saxe-Hildburghausen on October 12, 1810, they will have nine children. He succeeded his father in 1825. He embellished Munich with numerous monuments in the neo-classical style. His affair with Lola Montez forced him to abdicate in 1848. He died in Nice in 1868.
