(1823-1891)

Charles I of Württemberg (in German: Karl Friedrich Alexander von Württemberg), born March 6, 1823 in Stuttgart and died October 6, 1891 in the same city, was from 1864 to 1891 the third king of Württemberg. He is the son of William I of Württemberg and his cousin Pauline of Württemberg. On July 13, 1846, he married his cousin Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaïevna of Russia. Daughter of Emperor Nicholas I of Russia and Alexandra Feodorovna of Russia, born Princess of Prussia, the Grand Duchess is the granddaughter of Sophie-Dorothée of Württemberg. The wedding takes place in Peterhof, near Saint Petersburg..
