Ce teston est frappé sur un flan large et légèrement irrégulier. Exemplaire présentant de très hauts reliefs et recouvert d’une jolie patine grise avec des reflets bleutés. Infime rayure devant la bouche du roi

ALSACE - BISHOPRIC OF STRASBOURG AND METZ - CHARLES II OF LORRAINE-VAUDÉMONT
(1593-1607)
Charles II of Lorraine-Vaudemont succeeded Jean de Manderscheid. Charles II de Lorraine-Vaudemont is the second son of the Duke of Lorraine Charles III (1545-1608) and Claude de France, who died on February 22, 1574. His elder brother, Henri de Lorraine, became Duke of Lorraine on the death of Charles II (1608-1624). Charles II of Lorraine-Vaudemont was the 87th bishop of Metz; he was at the same time bishop of Strasbourg and died in 1607. His arms are: quartered at 1 of the bishopric of Strasbourg, at 2 and 3, part of three lines and cut, which makes eight quarters: 1 Hungary; 2 Napoli; 3 Jerusalem; 4 Aragón; 5 Anjou; 6 Gelderland; 7 July; 8 Bar; at 4 of the lower Landgraviate and on the whole of Lorraine.
