Exemplaire de qualité exceptionnelle pour ce type de monnayage sur un flan très légèrement bombé. Très beau portrait. Revers de toute beauté avec un infime défaut de virole à 1 heure. Infime petit coup sur la tranche à 10 au revers. Magnifique patine de médaillier. Infimes petites marques de manipulation dans le champ du revers. La monnaie conserve encore son aspect original de frappe et son brillant d’origine

William III (1650-1702), Prince of Orange (1650-1702), Stadtholder of Holland (1672-1702), King of England (1689-1702), was the son of William II of Orange-Nassau and Marie-Henriette Stuart (daughter of Charles I of England and Henriette-Marie of France). He married his cousin Mary II Stuart (1662-1694), daughter of James II of England and Anne Hyde. When the revolution of 1688 drives out his father-in-law and uncle, William is called upon to share the throne of Great Britain with his wife. After the latter's death, he reigned alone from 1694 to 1702. After his death, his sister-in-law Anne (1665-1714), second daughter of Jacques, succeeded him..
