Monnaie de très bon style, en bon or, avec des types de droit et de revers bien frappés et correctement centrés. De petits défauts de surface sont à signaler ainsi qu’un infime fissure partant du bord du flan, visible vers 9 heures au droit et à 11 heures au revers

Commentary

Cette très belle monnaie présente un style de droit assez proche des statères diablintes à l’hippocampe (cf. Sch/D. 255) avec cette tête laurée et ce même traitement de la chevelure.
Le MONETA III, n° 79 recense seulement 4 exemplaires pour ce type précis ; le BN 6823, les n° 117-118 du trésor des Sablons et le BN 6829, trouvé dans la Manche.
