Très beau droit, bien que légèrement décentré et frappé sur un flan court. revers un peu mou. Patine vert et brillante

Obverse legend : ANÉPIGRAPHE.

Obverse description : Tête diadémée à gauche, les cheveux dressés en forme de S ; devant et sous la tête, signe en forme d’epsilon ; derrière la tête, annelets.

Reverse

Reverse legend : ANÉPIGRAPHE.

Reverse description : Cheval libre galopant à gauche ; au-dessus du cheval, oiseau ou corbeau debout à gauche ; sous le cheval, ornement triangulaire.

Commentary

Ce type de bronze est vraiment très rare. La seule provenance connue pour ce type est celle de Verneuil-sur-Avre dans l'Eure où 3 exemplaires ont été recueillis. Précédemment, ce type avait été attribué soit aux Carnutes, soit aux Essui. Aujourd'hui, une attribution aux Aulerques Éburovices semble possible.
