Exemplaire sur un flan très large, extraordinaire au revers, d’une grande finesse et sans usure particulière. Joli droit de style fin

Commentary


Ce type reste rarissime, c’est la première fois que nous le présentons à la vente. Il est de même coin de revers que l’exemplaire DT 2405.
C’est probablement le plus bel exemplaire connu pour ce type !.

GALLIA - AULERCI EBUROVICES (Area of Évreux)

(2nd - 1st century BC)

The Aulerci were subdivided into three tribes: Aulerci Diablintes, Aulerci Cenomani and Aulerci Éburovices. The territory of Aulerques Éburovices corresponds to the current department of Eure. They are quoted several times in Caesar's Commentaries. According to the latter, they would have massacred their Senate favorable to the Romans in 56 BC and would have joined the Unelles and the revolted Lexoviens. In 52 BC, they provided a contingent of three thousand men to the relief army. : Caesar (BG.(II, 34; III, 17, 29; VII, 4, 75; VIII, 7). Kruta: 72.
