Essai de 2 euro monométallique frappée par la Birmingham Mint. La Birmingham Mint avait obtenu initialement le marché de frappe des pièces de 2 Euro des Pays-Bas. Depuis la Birmingham Mint a fait faillite et ne frappe plus d’Euros. La société avait l’habitude de frapper des essais sur des flans monométalliques.
Ces pièces sembleraient avoir servi de test pour les inscriptions sur les tranches. On estime actuellement à 100 le nombre d’exemplaires de ces essais monométalliques.
