Basiliscus, brother of Verina, wife of Leo I, revolted against Emperor Zeno at the beginning of the year 475 and briefly took power. Indeed, Zeno reacted vigorously, took over Constantinople and had Basiliscus and Marcus, his son, put to death in 476.
