Historical background

BOSPORUS - KINGDOM OF BOSPORUS - DYNAMIS

(45-8 BC)

Dynamis is the daughter of Pharnaces II of Pontus and a granddaughter of Mithridates VI, King of Pontus and the Bosphorus (120-63 BC). She married successively Asander, (44-17 BC) winner and successor of her father, then Scribonius and finally Polemon I, King of Pontus (15-9 BC). Polemon abandons her after a year of marriage in order to marry Pythodoris. From Asandre was born Aspurgus who reigns from 10/11 to 38/39. The latter is the founder of a dynasty, a vassal of Rome which will reign over the region until the 4th century..
