Jean, Count of Montfort is the half-brother of the Duke of Brittany Jean III and is recognized as Duke of Brittany with the support of the English while Charles de Blois, is recognized by the King of France Philippe VI. The war of succession began in 1341 and opposed the Montfortist party to the Blesist party until 1365.
