Exemplaire sur un flan ovale, légèrement décentré sur les légendes. Très beau portrait. Joli revers. Une fine patine grise avec des reflets dorés recouvre l’exemplaire

Reverse description : Instruments pontificaux : lituus, couteau à sacrifices, vase (capis), simpulum et aspersoir.

Commentary
Poids très léger. Portrait tout à fait particulier, comme stylisé, faisant penser à une imitation avec un portrait à l’œil stylisé.

Caesar
Caracalla was born on April 4, 188 in Lyon. He is the eldest son of Septimius Severus and Julia Domna. On May 27, 196, he was created Caesar by his father, who had broken with Clodius Albinus. After the defeat of Albin near Lyon, on February 19, 197, he received the titles of prince of youth and pontiff. Caracalla was named Augustus in April 198 before the great Parthian victory.
