Superbe triens sur un flan un peu court mais bien identifiable. Bel aspect général avec un droit centré mais un revers un peu décentré. Triens contenant 35% d’or selon les analyses d’Arent Pol

Obverse description : Buste de face, barbu, sous une croisette ; une croisette dans le champ à gauche et un globule dans le champ à droite.

Reverse description : Croix latine sur deux degrés, accostée de CA, dans un diadème de perles ; légende autour.

Commentary

Cette variante précise est reprise sous le n° 125 du classement de Ponton d’Amécourt publié en 1874. Ce dernier faisait remarque que le nom du monétaire est transformé en TALAFIVS à cause de la croisette initiale qui a été mal interprétée par le graveur, comme à Bannassac où ELAFIVS devient TELAFIVS...
Seulement deux exemplaires sont recensés dans le Moneta ; B. 1243 et B. 1241, tous deux conservés au musée de Chalon-sur-Saône.
