(1125-1152)

Thibaud II the Great (1093-1152) is one of the greatest counts of Champagne. He was Count of Blois and Chartres (1102-1152), Count of Meaux and Blois (1125-1152) and the main adversary of Louis VI le Gros before joining forces with him to fight Henri V. His brother Étienne de Blois was king of England (1135). He was the initiator with Hugues de Payns of the Order of the Temple in 1119.
