Reverse description : Victoria (la Victoire) nu jusqu’à la ceinture, tenant un bouclier de la main gauche, placé sur un palmier et écrivant de la main droite ; à ses pieds, un captif assis à droite, dans la tristesse.
Reverse translation : “Pontifex Maximus Tribunicia potestate nonum Imperator sextum Consul quartum Pater Patriæ”, (Grand pontife revêtu de la neuvième puissance tribunitienne et de la sixième acclamation impériale consul pour la quatrième fois père de la patrie).

Augustus

Commodus succeeded his father Marc Aurèle, who died in Vienna on March 17, 180. He hastened to conclude a truce with the Germanic tribes and then abandoned public life. The Empire was successively governed by the prefects of the Praetorium, Perennis from 182 to 185, Cléandre from 185 to 190, who were both assassinated. Commodus suffocated on the night of December 31, 192.
