Exemplaire sur un flan ovale bien centré des deux côtés avec les grènetis visibles. Magnifique portrait divinisé. Fantastique revers de style fin et de frappe vigoureuse. Patine gris foncé aux reflets métalliques. La monnaie a conservé son coupant d’origine

Consecration of Constantine I

Constance, the father of Constantine I and the husband of Helen, who became august in 305, went to Brittany to fight the Picts. He died in York as Septimius Severus, on July 25, 306. His son, Constantine, who was with him despite Galerius' prohibition, was proclaimed Caesar. Subsequently, he often used the image of his father for his benefit.
