Exemplaire frappé sur un flan large et centré. Usure superficielle, mais un joli buste au droit. Revers agréable. Patine marron

Obverse translation : “Imperator Constantius Augustus”, (L’empereur Constance auguste).

Reverse legend : GENIO POP-VLI ROMANI/ -|*// PLC.
Reverse description : Genio (le Génie) debout à gauche nu, le manteau pendant sur l'épaule, tenant de la main gauche une corne d'abondance et de la main droite une patère et sacrifiant au-dessus d'un autel allumé.
Reverse translation : “Genio Populi Romani”, (Au Génie du peuple romain).

Augustus

Constantius became Caesar on March 1, 293 at the same time as Galerius. Constance, who became august in 305, went to Brittany to fight the Picts. He died in York as Septimius Severus on July 25, 306. Constantine had had time to join him, despite Galerius' ban. Constantine struck an important coinage of consecration then restitution in his memory.
