Obverse description : Buste radié, drapé et cuirassé de Constance Ier auguste à droite, vu de trois quarts en avant (A).
Obverse translation : “Flavius Valerius Cæsar Constantius Nobilissimus Cæsar”, (Flavien Valère césar Constance très noble césar).

Reverse legend : CONCORDIA MI-LITVM/ B//ALE.
Reverse description : Constance et Jupiter debout face à face ; Dioclétien est debout à gauche, tourné à droite, vêtu de la toge, il tient un sceptre court de la main gauche et reçoit un globe nicéphore de Jupiter, nu debout à droite, tourné à gauche, tenant un sceptre de la main gauche.
Reverse translation : “Concordia Militum”, (La Concorde des soldats).

Commentary


Seule émission de ce type pour la première Tétrarchie. Semble plus rare que ne le laissent paraître les ouvrages généraux.

Constance is linked to Herculean parentage. He divorces Helen to marry Theodora, Maximian's daughter-in-law, while Galerius marries Galéria Valéria, daughter of Diocletian1/03/293-1/05/305.
