Exemplaire sur un flan ovale et épais bien centré avec les grènetis visibles. Beau portrait de Constance II. Frappe molle au revers. Jolie patine verte

Reverse description : Deux soldats debout face à face, casqués et vêtus militairement, tenant chacun une haste et s'appuyant sur un bouclier ; au milieu, deux enseignes militaires.

Commentary


Poids lourd. Rubans de type 3 aux extrémités bouletées. Ptéryges fines sous le paludamentum. La deuxième officine est dévolue à Constance II.

Caesar

Constantius II was born on August 7, 318 in Sirmium. He was raised to the cesarat on November 8, 324 at the age of six. In 337, after the death of his father, it was he who murdered or allowed most of his collateral family, descendants of Constantius Chlorus and Theodora. Only Constance Galle and Julien escape the massacre.
