Exemplaire de qualité exceptionnelle sur un flan large, bien centré des deux côtés avec les grènetis complets, légèrement taché au droit. Magnifique portrait massif avec un minuscule petit défaut de frappe dans la chevelure. Revers de joli style, finement détaillé. Très jolie patine marron glacé avec des reflets métalliques. Conserve une partie de son brillant de frappe et de son coupant d’origine

Commentary
Poids léger. Avec l’intégralité de son argenture superficielle. Rubans de type 2 aux extrémités bouletées. Cinq rangs verticaux de pierres au revers. Tourelles pointées. Étoile à huit rais (astre). Linteaux de porte vides. Les lettres S-F peuvent se développer par “Sæculi Felicitas” (la Félicité du siècle).

Augustus
Constantine was born in 274, son of Constance Chlore and Helena. He was named Caesar on the death of his father on July 25, 306 and was proclaimed august on December 25, 307. He married Fausta, the daughter of Maximien Hercule, who gave him five children, three of whom were augusts. The first twenty years of his reign are devoted to imposing himself as the main august against Maximian Hercules, Galerius, Maxentius, Maximin II and Licinius. He is recognized as the first Christian emperor, although baptized only on his deathbed on May 22, 337.
