Obverse description : Buste du Christ Antiphonetes debout de face, avec le globe crucigère, vêtu du pallium et du colombium, bénissant de la main droite et tenant les Évangiles de la gauche ; triple grènetis circulaire.
Obverse translation : (Jésus Christ roi des rois).

Reverse legend : + CWNSTANTIN BASILEYS ROM.
Reverse description : Buste couronné avec pendilia de Constantin VIII vêtu du loros, tenant de la main droite le labarum croiseté et bouleté orné de cinq globules posés en carré centré et l’akakia de la main gauche ; triple grènetis circulaire.
Reverse translation : (Constantin rois romains).

Commentary


Le nimbe crucigère du Christ est orné de deux croissants dans les bras supérieurs de la croix. Les Évangiles sont ornés et gemmés et la main du Christ est posée devant. Ce type est en fait plus rare que ne le laissent supposer les ouvrages généraux.
