Obverse description : Buste de Crispus lauré, drapé et cuirassé à gauche vu de trois quarts en avant avec lance sur l'épaule droite et bouclier sur l'épaule gauche (F*2).
Obverse translation : "Iulius Crispus Nobilissimus Cæsar", (Jules Crispe très noble césar).

Reverse


Reverse legend : VIRTVS - EXERCIT/ VOT/ X/ S|F/HL// ASIS*.
Reverse description : Étendard au bas duquel sont assis deux captifs ; celui qui est à gauche a les mains liées derrière le dos ; l'autre est dans l'attitude de la tristesse.
Reverse translation : "Virtus Exercitus/ Votis decennalibus", (La Virilité de l'armée/ Vœux pour le dixième anniversaire du règne).

Poids léger. Rubans de type 3 aux extrémités bouletées. Cuirasse et épaulière cloutées. Ptéryges fines. Bouclier à bordure cloutée avec umbo central.

Caesar

Crispus is the son of Constantine and Minervine. Born around 300, he was named Caesar in 317 with Constantine II and Licinius II. Rightly or wrongly, he is accused by his stepmother of wanting to abuse her. Faced with these accusations, Constantine had his eldest son put to death in early 326.
