Commentary

Cette monnaie est décrite par Jean-Paul Divo comme étant un “denier”. Dès 1936, Blanchet et Dieudonné considéraient cette monnaie comme un liard. Cette hypothèse a été vérifiée à partir de la publication de quatre documents d’archives inédits de la fin du XVe siècle, cf. A. Clairand et C. Vellet, “Quatre documents méconnus relatifs au monnayage des seigneurs de Trévoux (1483-1489)”, Cahiers Numismatiques, décembre 2004.
