Caesar under Titus

Domitian receives the title of Caesar, therefore heir to the Empire, at the same time as his brother Titus in December 69. He is proclaimed "Princeps Iuventutis" (Prince of Youth), a title he retains even after death of his father in 79. After the death of his brother Titus on September 13, 81, he became emperor. His reign lasted fifteen years and ended with his assassination by members of the court..
