Flan un peu court avec un avers incomplet bien que centré, mais un superbe revers centré, complet et de frappe vigoureuse. Magnifique patine sombre et brillante de médaillier

Commentary


Pour ce type de denier, il existe au moins deux types différents, avec ou sans l'annelet entre les jambes du cheval. Le poids de ces deniers semble particulièrement régulier ; la quasi-totalité des exemplaires pesant entre 1,90 et 1,96 grammes.
Cet exemplaire a été frappé avec les mêmes coins que ceux qui ont permis une tentative de reconstitution du coin de droit à empreintes multiples. Il vient donc en compléter l’image !
L’avers semble un peu confus en raison d’une frappe partiellement incuse sous la tête.

The Aedui (Aedui), which could be translated as the "Ardent", were certainly, after the Arverni, the most important people of Gaul. The Aedui remained faithful to the Roman alliance during the War, although Caesar estimated the Aedui who participated in the Gallic coalition at thirty-five thousand men.. Caesar did not hold it against them and they received citizenship directly because they were considered "consanguineous brothers of the Romans".
