Commentary


Trou de centrage des deux côtés, bien visible des deux côtés. Précédemment ce type était attribué à l’atelier de Paphos sur l’île de Chypre. Il faut le rendre à l’atelier d’Alexandrie.

Ptolemy VI was the eldest son of Ptolemy V and Cleopatra I Thea. His mother's regency lasted until 176 BC. He reigned jointly with his brother Ptolemy VIII from 170 to 164 BC. He married his sister Cleopatra II by whom he had two daughters and Ptolemy VII. He died of his wounds while fighting Alexander I Balas.
