Exemplaire sur un flan large et épais, bien centré des deux côtés. Très beau buste de Ptolémée. Frappe un peu molle au revers et court sur la légende. Patine de collection ancienne

Poids léger. Sur cet exemplaire, le bandeau est particulièrement fin et visible dans la chevelure.

First Reign

In 80 BC, Sylla imposed Ptolemy XI Alexander, son of Ptolemy X. The new king had Berenice III assassinated before being eliminated himself, without an heir. Ptolemy XII Auletes, that is to say the flute player, son of Ptolemy IX Soter ascended the throne. He placed himself under the protection of the Romans. In 58 BC, it was driven out of Egypt by the Alexandrians and then restored by the Romans four years later. He is the father of Cleopatra VII, the Great, who succeeded him.
