Exemplaire sur un petit flan, échancré au droit à 1 heure, centré des deux côtés. Beau portrait à l’usure régulière. Joli revers historiquement important. Patine gris foncé de collection ancienne avec des reflets dorés

Reverse legend : SACERD DEI SOLIS ELAGAB/ -|*.
Reverse description : Élagabal lauré et drapé debout à droite, tenant de la main droite une patère et sacrifiant au-dessus d'un autel allumé, tenant de la main gauche une branche de cyprès, dirigée vers le haut.
Reverse translation : "Sacerdos Dei Solis Elagabali", (Prêtre du dieu soleil Élagabal).
Commentary
Poids très léger. Rubans de type 3. La corne est bien visible dans la couronne de laurier.

Proclaimed emperor on May 16, 218, Elagabalus, sole august until the end of June or the beginning of July, left Syria to join Rome. Elagabalus stops at Nicomedia. He spent the whole winter there and fell ill. It was therefore in this city that he took up his second consulship. Elagabal will not arrive in Rome until July or September 219, bringing the black stone of his cult to install him in his capital. He will never return to Syria, quickly assassinated after an unequaled reign of turpitude and disorder.
