Exemplaire sur un flan ovale, bien centré des deux côtés. Belle tête d’Élagabal. Joli revers de style fin. Belle patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets dorés

Reverse description : Sol radié et nu marchant à gauche, le manteau flottant sur l'épaule gauche, levant la main droite et tenant un fouet de la main gauche, le pied droit posé sur un rocher.
Reverse translation : “Pontifex Maximus Tribunicia Potestas quartus Consul tertius Pater Patriæ”, (Grand pontife revêtu de la puissance tribunitienne consul pour la troisième fois père de la patrie).
Commentary
Rubans de type 1. Ce type avec la tête laurée, sans favori semble plus rare.

ELAGABALUS
(16/05/218-12/03/222)
Proclaimed emperor on May 16, 218, Elagabalus, sole august until the end of June or the beginning of July, left Syria to join Rome. Elagabalus stops at Nicomedia. He spent the whole winter there and fell ill. It was therefore in this city that he took up his second consulship. Elagabal will not arrive in Rome until July or September 219, bringing the black stone of his cult to install him in his capital. He will never return to Syria, quickly assassinated after an unequaled reign of turpitude and disorder.
