Exemplaire sur flan ovale bien centré des deux côtés. Très beau portrait d’Élagabal. Frappe un peu molle au revers. Jolie patine grise superficielle avec reflets dorés

Reverse description : Élagabal lauré et drapé debout de face tourné à gauche, tenant verticalement une branche de cyprès de la main gauche et une patère de la main droite, sacrifiant au-dessus d'un autel allumé.
Reverse translation : “Pontifex Maximus Tribunicia Potestate quartum Consul tertium Pater Patriæ” (Grand Pontife, revêtu de la quatrième puissance tribunitienne, consul pour la troisième fois, Père de la Patrie).
Commentary
Rubans de type 3. Le portrait d’Élagabal est représenté avec favori et la corne, légèrement barbu. Étoile à six rais. Elle représente probablement la Pierre noire.

Proclaimed emperor on May 16, 218, Elagabalus, sole august until the end of June or the beginning of July, left Syria to join Rome. Elagabalus stops at Nicomedia. He spent the whole winter there and fell ill. It was therefore in this city that he took up his second consulship. Elagabal will not arrive in Rome until July or September 219, bringing the black stone of his cult to install him in his capital. He will never return to Syria, quickly assassinated after an unequaled reign of turpitude and disorder.
