Cette pièce de 20 reales est frappé sur un flan large et plutôt irrégulier. Légères traces de nettoyage mais un exemplaire très agréable recouvert d’une jolie patine grise

Commentary
Les pièces de 20 reales furent frappées entre 1808 et 1813. Près de 2,5 millions de pièces furent fabriquées. 20 reales de vellon correspondent à 8 reales de plata. Pour le revers, il existe deux variétés : avec une grande aigle héraldique en cœur entre 1808 et 1811 et avec une petite aigle de 1811 à 1813.

French troops commanded by Murat invaded Madrid on May 1, 1808. On May 2, "Dos de Mayo" immortalized by Goya, the people rose up. The repression is terrible. On the 5th, by the Treaty of Bayonne, Charles IV abdicated and Ferdinand VII renounced the throne. On June 6, Napoleon chose his brother Joseph to reign over Spain.
