Commentary
Poids conforme au type standard. Cet essai, reprenant le type de Turin adopté en 1929, ne fut frappé qu’à 1.100 exemplaires. Contrairement à la 20 francs, ce type monétaire fut accompagné d’une émission courante.

Recognized by the United States, little by little, the Provisional Government of the French Republic saw its authority extend to the liberated regions. This government was installed in Paris on August 31, 1944 and was reorganized in September to allow the entry of personalities from the internal resistance.
