Pour ce type, M. Crawford a relevé une estimation de 527 coins de droit et de 659 coins de revers pour deux variétés. C’est l’un des deniers républicains les plus courants du monnayage avec une production dépassant certainement le million de deniers frappés.

In 109 BC, Quintus Cæcilius Metellus, one of the two consuls won successes against Jugurtha and received the nickname Numidicus. Marcus Junius Silanus is the second consul. The following year Servius Sulpicius Galba and Hortensius were consuls. Marcus Aurelius Scaurus, the consul of 115 BC is suffect consul.
