Obverse description : Tête ceinte d’un bandeau à gauche, la chevelure indiquée par trois mèches, le cou par trois petits traits.

Reverse legend : ANÉPIGRAPHE.
Reverse description : Sanglier enseigne à gauche, la queue recourbée ; hampe en forme de T aux branches pointées et surmontée d'un gros globule, un globule à l'arrière au-dessus de la queue.

Commentary


Le n° 981 de MONNAIES XV, est le seul autre potin de ce type que nous ayons vendu !
Le globule sur les soies à l’arrière du sanglier permet de différencier les exemplaires appartenant à la classe Ik2.

The Leuques as well as the Séquanes and the Lingones provided Caesar with wheat when the Roman army stopped at Vesontio (Besançon) to refuel before facing the Germans of Ariovistus (58 BC).
