Commentary


Le 22 décembre 1800, l'empereur russe Paul Ier, à la demande du roi géorgien Georges XII, signe le Manifeste sur l'union volontaire de la Géorgie et de la Russie. Le manifeste est proclamé le 18 janvier 1801. En 1810, le royaume d'Iméréthie à l'ouest de la Géorgie se joint à l'Empire russe.
