Exemplaire de qualité exceptionnelle sur un flan bien centré des deux côtés avec les grènetis visibles. Magnifique portrait de Géta adulte. Revers de toute beauté. Très jolie patine de médaillier avec des reflets dorés. Conserve l’intégralité de son brillant de frappe et de son coupant d’origine

Reverse description : Felicitas (la Félicité) drapée debout à gauche, tenant une corne d’abondance de la main droite et un caducée long de la main gauche.
Reverse translation : “Pontifex Tribunicia Potestate iterum Consul iterum”, (Pontife, détenteur de la puissance tribunitienne pour la deuxième fois, consul pour la deuxième fois).

Augustus
Geta, born on May 26, 189, became Caesar in 198 and the following year received the title of pontifex. He accompanies his father and his brother to Brittany from 208 and is raised to Augustat the following year. When Septimius Severus died in York on February 4, 211, the two brothers brought their father's ashes back to Rome and became co-emperors. But they hate each other. Finally, after a year of joint rule, Caracalla kills his brother in their mother's arms. Geta is dedicated to "damnatio memoriæ" (damnation of memory). His supporters are systematically massacred.
