Reverse description : Liberalitas (la Libéralité) debout de face, regardant à gauche, tenant de la main droite une tessère et de la gauche une corne d'abondance ; un globe à ses pieds à droite.
Reverse translation : “Liberalitas Augusti quintum”, (Cinquième libéralité de l’auguste).

Commentary


Sur cet exemplaire, on note la présence d’un globe. Cette iconographie est normalement réservée à la Providence au lieu de la Libéralité.

Augustus

Geta, born on May 26, 189, became Caesar in 198 and the following year received the title of pontifex. He accompanies his father and his brother to Brittany from 208 and is raised to Augustat the following year. When Septimius Severus died in York on February 4, 211, the two brothers brought their father's ashes back to Rome and became co-emperors. But they hate each other. Finally, after a year of joint rule, Caracalla kills his brother in their mother's arms. Geta is dedicated to "damnatio memoriæ" (damnation of memory). His supporters are systematically massacred.
