Flan quadrangulaire irrégulier. Très beau portrait de bon style. Revers de haut relief, bien venu à la frappe. Superbe patine noire lissée avec flan miroir. Très jolie monnaie

Gordian III is the grandson of Gordian I and the nephew of Gordian II, ephemeral emperors of the year 238. At the request of the people of Rome, he is chosen as Caesar by Balbin and Pupian and succeeds them after their assassinations.
