Commentary


A ne pas confondre avec le Florin en or du moyen age qui valait 6 shillings, le Florin en argent vaut 2 shillings ou un dixième de Livre or. En 1937, la dénomination “Florin” disparait au profit de l’inscription “2 Shillings”. En 1968, lors du passage au système décimal, le module devient une monnaie de 10 Pence..

George V (3/06/1865-20/01/1936) is the youngest son of Edward VII and Alexandra of Denmark. Prince of Wales in 1901, he succeeded his father in 1910. He married Mary de Teck (1867-1953) in 1893. He is the father of Edward VIII and George VI.
