Commentary


Faustin Soulouque (1782-1867) est élu président par le Sénat d’Haïti en 1847. En 1849, il se fait proclamé Empereur d’Haïti sous le nom de Faustin Ier. Il est renversé en 1852 par le général Fabre Geffrard.
Cette monnaie vaut un seizième de gourde.
