Historical background

HANNIBALIANIUS

(25/12/335-06/337)

Hanniballien is the brother of Delmace and the son of Jules Constance, nephew of Constantin. It seems that he was enthroned king of Armenia on December 25, 335, the anniversary date of the elevation of Constantine I. Married to the daughter of Constantine, he left to join his territories. After the death of Constantine I, and by decision of his sons, he was assassinated with the rest of the Constantinian family in June 337, at the instigation of Constantius II.
