Exemplaire sur un petit flan ovale et irrégulier bien centré des deux côtés. Beau buste d’Herennius Étruscus. Frappe un peu molle au revers. Belle patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets dorés

Reverse legend : PRINCIPI IVVENTVTIS.
Reverse description : Hérennius Étruscus debout à gauche tenant une baguette de la main droite et une haste transversale de la gauche.
Reverse translation : “Principi Iuventutis”, (Au Prince de la jeunesse).

Commentary


Poids lourd. Rubans de type 3. Sur certains exemplaires la haste transversale du revers est remplacée par un sceptre.

Hérennius receives the title of Caesar in the course of the year 250 and becomes august at the time of his departure from Rome, in April or May 251, to go and fight the Goths with his father. He will find death there.
