Historical background

HURIEL - LORDSHIP OF HURIEL - HUMBAUD III

(around 1200)

The precise dates of the lords of Huriel are quite imprecise and several Humbauds are known. Humbaud I, known as the old "Humbaldus uriacensis senior", married Déa de Bourbon and linked the lordship of Huriel to the Bourbons. He died in 1090. His eldest son, Humbaud called "the Younger", died around 1125. We finally know another Humbaud, third of the name, son of the lord of Huriel Aldebert, who succeeded him around 1180 and reigned until around 1220. He married Angès de la Roche-Guillebaud of whom he had only one daughter who married Ebbes de Déols.
