Tommaso Mocenigo was elected as the 64th doge of Venice in 1414. He died in April 1423. He came from a noble patrician family in Venice, which gave several doges to the city. The Mocenigo family is mentioned as early as the 12th century and remains one of the most illustrious in the Republic of Venice..
