Historical background

KUSHAN - KUSHAN KINGDOM - VASUDEVA I

(185-228)

The Kushans or Yue-Tche emigrated in the 1st century AD, leaving China to first settle in Sogdiana, before occupying the remains of the Indo-Greek kingdoms and penetrating what became the Hindo Kush. Vasu-Deva is the son of Huviska, whom he succeeded around 185 AD, who reigned over northern India. His death around 228 marks the decline of the Kushan Empire.
